About the academy
OpenConstruction Academy is a free video library about everyday construction work: estimating, bills of quantities, tendering, procurement, site control, progress billing, retention and change orders. Every lesson is shown on a sample project in OpenConstructionERP, the free, open-source construction ERP.
Who makes it
The academy is made by Artem Boiko (DataDrivenConstruction · OpenConstructionERP), who also develops OpenConstructionERP and the open construction cost databases of DataDrivenConstruction. Questions and corrections: info@datadrivenconstruction.io.

How the lessons are made
- Each video follows one sample project through real steps in OpenConstructionERP; the screens are recorded from the software itself.
- The rules a lesson relies on (for example Ontario's prompt-payment deadlines or Québec's legal hypothec) are named in the video, so they can be checked at the source; each video page lists them under “Sources”, linked to the official page where there is one.
- Every video page carries its chapters and its full transcript, which is the text spoken in the video.
- Videos are in English, German and French. The site's interface is available in 38 languages: English, German, French and Croatian were written for this site; the other languages are machine-translated and may read less naturally.
